Stephanie also
had the opportunity to attend several conferences as a student
throughout the United States where she was able to learn from
the industries' top professional dance teachers. Stephanie has
been individually recognized by Al Gilbert, Dance Caravan, and
the Dance Educators of America by winning scholarships to
further her dance training.
After graduating from high school, Stephanie was selected to
dance with the Northwestern State University dance team and
was elected as an officer her second year. Stephanie graduated
from Northwestern State University in 2000 with a bachelor’s
degree in Early Childhood Education. Knowing that dance would
always be her passion, Stephanie continued to dance at NSU in
the performing arts department under the direction of Ed Brazo.
Her dance teaching career began during college through the
Head Start summer program as a dance and creative movement
teacher. She has taught with the River Oaks Square Artworks
program as well as a dance teacher in central Louisiana for
the past 5 years. As a volunteer at her Alma Mater, Holy
Savior Menard Central High School, she served as the coach of
the award winning varsity cheerleaders for four years.
Stephanie continues to educate students throughout Cenla with
both recreational and intensive dance programs. It has been a
life-long dream to share with children her love and passion
for dance.
